LAYYAH, April 14: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped on Monday in Karor Lal Esan, some 22km away from here.

Reports said ‘R’ , a class-IV student, did not return home from school. Her father Fayyaz was on his way to the school when he listened to a hue and cry from the house of his neighbour Muhammad Asif, a patwari.

Fayyaz along with other neighbours entered the house and found Asif and his accomplice Khadam Husain raping her daughter. On seeing them, the accused managed their escape at gunpoint.

After issuance of medico-legal certificate by THQ hospital doctor, the police have registered a case against the accused under section 376 of the PPC. However, no arrest was made.
