MARDAN, April 23: The residents of Hoti, Par Hoti and Tariq Colony and Shamsi Road have criticized religious elements and elders who are using their influence to disrupt the transmissions of the local cable TV network.

There are four cable service providers in Mardan. Religious elements and elders have launched a sort of campaign in the town against them and have even disconnected wires at certain places.

A cable user in Tariq Colony said that the service was being halted by an influential member of a religious organization who thought that cable programmes bred obscenity.
