KARACHI, April 14: Five ships scheduled to load and offload containers, cement, fertiliser, palm oil and crude oil were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and palm oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, CMA CGM Turkey, Sima Paya, Shadwan Island, Donna-V, Theoniki, Artistry, Eastern Amenity and Cerigo, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, fertiliser, palm oil, chemicals and crude oil.

A cargo volume of 58,737 tons comprising 48,813 tons of import and 9,924 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was brisk as CMA CGM Turkey, Sima Paya, Zanzibar, Eastern Amenity, Al-Salam-II and Steel Might departed.
