LAHORE, April 12: Jamaat-i-Islami Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmad and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif reiterated their stand on the judiciary issue on Saturday, saying that judges should be restored within 30 days of the formation of the federal cabinet.

According to a statement issued by the JI headquarters following a meeting between the two at the Sharifs’ Raiwind residence, Qazi Hussain Ahmad said the JI had boycotted elections to express solidarity with the judiciary and to protest the dismissal of judges.

He said that his party now wanted parliament to work in accordance with the Constitution.

The JI leader urged the PML-N and the PPP to move forward for the sake of democracy and get rid of the dictatorship.

Qazi Hussain said that the law and order situation in tribal areas needed more attention from all democratic parties as some elements were hatching conspiracies to escalate sectarian tension in Parachinar.

The PML-N chief said that his party would stand firm on his stance for democracy and judiciary.

He expressed the hope that after the meeting between him and Asif Ali Zardari to be held within two or three days, their next strategy would be more clear on the judiciary issue.
