NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 10: Around 25 tapedars and kotars (revenue officials) staged a protest demonstration against the mukhtiarkar of Moro outside his office on Wednesday.

The protesters alleged that Mukhtiarkar Anwar Memon was demanding bribe for legitimate works of people and used abusive language to insult the tapedars and kotars.

The tapedars took out a rally and reached outside the mukhtiarkar’s office and observed token hunger strike for about four hours.

They demanded of the chief minister of Sindh to transfer him and initiate inquiry against him.

They warned that they would continue protest if the mukhtiarkar was not transferred and action was not taken against him.

POOR LAW AND ORDER: The members of taluka council of Naushahro Feroze expressed concern over deteriorating law and order situation in the taluka here on Wednesday.

Naib Nazim Ghulam Hussain Mastoi presided over the meeting.

They complained that the law and order situation had deteriorated and armed men were freely looting people and buses while police had failed to control the situation.

They complained that drugs were being sold openly in the area and future of youngsters was at stake because of that.

Naushahro Feroze DSP Syed Hubdar Ali Shah informed the meeting that 20 commandos had been deputed on the National Highway with four police vehicles while the strength of police on patrolling at link roads had also been increased.
