HYDERABAD, April 7: Acti-vists of the Pakistan People’s Party-SB and its youth and student wings staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Monday to protest against inordinate delay in the dispensation of justice in the murder case of Mir Murtaza Bhutto and expected exclusion of the name of Asif Ali Zardari from the list of the accused.

Speaking on the occasion, Peeral Majidano and others warned that if the name of Mr Zardari was excluded from the list of the accused, their peaceful protest could take a violent turn. “Our patience and perseverance should not be taken as weakness”, he said.

He expressed confidence in the courts and expected justice but warned if justice was not restored, responsibility for consequences would rest on the shoulders of the rulers.

JSQM: A large number of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz activists staged a demonstration and observed token hunger strike outside the press club to protest against continued imprisonment of Dr Safdar Sarki, Akhtar Mengal, Asif Baladi, Asghar Shah and other nationalist leaders and activists.

Speaking on the occasion, JSQM senior vice-chairman Mohammad Rahimoon and acting general secretary Zafar Korejo said that the followers of G.M. Syed had become an eyesore for the rulers.

They said: “Those who have used the name of Benazir Bhutto to enter the corridors of power have forgotten her commitment to release Dr Sarki, Mr Mengal and other political prisoners.” They demanded immediate release of political prisoners.

A group of lawyers, including Sarwar Buledi and also observed token hunger strike to express solidarity with the JSQM.
