Charge-sheets of suspects

BAHAWALPUR, April 6: Police is likely to submit the chargesheets of eight suspect suicide bombers to an anti-terrorism court on Monday (today). Bahawalnagar police on Saturday claimed to have arrested the accused.

Police say accused gangsters Maulana Farooq Ahmad Rajanpuri, of a madressah at Khichiwala in Fort Abbas, had planned a suicide bombing near the residence of former minister Ejazul Haq, a candidate in the Feb 18 election from a Haroonabad constituency.

ARRESTED: Sadar police claimed to have arrested wanted criminal Arif Qureshi, a member of inter-district Ramzani gang of Muzaffargarh.

Ramzani is already in the custody of Muzaffargarh police.

DIES OF BATON-CHARGE: A man, who was allegedly baton-charged by police on April 1 at Jamalpur, succumbed to his injuries at Bahawal Victoria Hospital on Sunday.

Police resorted to baton charge when a crowd resisted the police from two suspects in the area.
