KARACHI, April 21: Pakistan romped to a crushing 153 run victory against New Zealand in the first One-day International here on Sunday, with fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar producing a career-best performance.

Shoaib finished with six for 16, virtually overshadowing a marvellous century by Yousuf Youhana, who struck 126 to lift Pakistan from 49 for three to an imposing 275 for six.

The Kiwis were blown away for 122 in 30 overs.
