PESHAWAR, April 5: Businessmen of the area here have asked the commercial banks to provide bank statements free of cost besides improving their computerised services.

This demand was made at a meeting of the Local Credit Advisory Committee of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). Chief manager SBP, Peshawar Tasleem Qazi presided over the meeting, where Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, Sharafat Ali Mubarik and Sufi Bashir Ahmad represented the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Representatives of various commercial banks also attended the session, says a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi demanded free of cost issuance of bank statements to clients by the banks and conversion of National Bank of Pakistan’s booth at Torkhum border into a full-fledge branch.
