PESHAWAR, March 27: The All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association has expressed concern over kidnapping of transport workers in different parts of the NWFP and demanded of the government to take immediate remedial actions.
The demand was made in a meeting chaired by Haji Mohammad Ayub, president of the association, held here on Thursday. Haji Akbar Shah, Jan Mohammad Afridi, Haji Misri Khan, Dost Mohammad, Amin Shah and others attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Haji Ayub said that from December last to March, eight oil tankers along with drivers and cleaners had been hijacked in different parts of the province. He lamented that concerned officers had been approached for early recovery of the vehicles and workers “but to no avail”. —Bureau Report
