VEHARI, March 26: Police on Wednesday registered a case on court orders against 11 people, including two doctors, who were allegedly involved in removal and sale of a labourer’s kidney.

Labourer Bashir Rana had filed an application with the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Mushtaq Ahmad Ojla that his brother Nazir Ahmed, Altaf Arain, Maqbool Khokhar, Snaullah, Ramzan and Imran Naveed, with the connivance of two doctors of a private hospital of Lahore, and three unknown accused, got his kidney removed and sold it.

The court ordered Sadar police to register a case against the accused.

Accordingly, the police registered a case under sections 334,148 and149.

One of the accused, Altaf Arain claimed while talking to Dawn that police involved him in the case at the behest of some influential people.
