LAYYAH, March 25: The son of a goldsmith, who had been kidnapped for ransom on Monday, was found murdered near a street of his house.

Reports said Muhammad Farooq’s son Shahroze, 13, left the school and did not return home. Later, some people contacted Farooq on his cell phone and demanded Rs4 million ransom for the release of his son.

The kidnappers threatened Farooq with dire consequences if he informed the police. At night, the body of Shahroze was found from a nearby street of his house. His mouth was gagged and fingers of his hands and a foot were chopped off.

Police have also arrested three suspects and are investigating.
