SHIKARPUR, March 25: A man was shot dead and another suffered injuries when they were fired upon by their rivals in the Lakhi Ghulam Shah police station’s limits on Tuesday.

Mohammad Bux Khoso was driving his truck from Pir Bakhar village to Sukkur when he came under attack. The injured Ali Mardan Noonari was sent to Lakhi taluka hospital for treatment.

KILLED: One Nizamuddin Jatoi was killed in a clash between two rival groups of Jatoi tribe in Manik Ji Wandh village of Garhi Yasin taluka in the jurisdiction of Gaheja police station on Tuesday.

The motive behind the killing is said to be a running dispute between the rival groups.

Police lodged an FIR on the complaint of Allah Warayo Jatoi, father of the deceased against nine people including Darvesh Jatoi, Sarwar Jatoi, Mohbat Jatoi and Hero Jatoi.

DISMISSED: Shikarpur DPO Agha Mohammad Tahir on Tuesday dismissed ASI Rahim Bux Bijarani, ASI Moazzam Baloch, Head Constable Mohammad Siddique and nine other constables on charges of absence from duty and negligence.

He also imposed fine and forfeited one year of service of 31 police officers and constables and warned that the officials would be severely punished for negligence and absenteeism.
