Body formed for furniture sector

KARACHI, 24 March: A meeting was held in Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) with the Furniture Manufacturing Association under the chairmanship of Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Tariq Ikram. They discussed the

matters relating to the furniture sector.

A 13-member of Sectoral Committee for the furniture sector was appointed, which will act as an advisory body to the TDAP on matters relating to the furniture sector.

In particular it will come up with a five-year action plan “Furniture Vision 2013” to bring about a quantum jump in the export value from the furniture sector in consultation with key players from the sector including the identification and recommendation of exhibition/delegation to be undertaken along with other promotional activities.—PPI
