FAISALABAD, March 22: A jobless man committed suicide after killing his two minor daughters in a village not far from here, police said on Saturday.

According to sources, Abdul Shakoor of Chak 241-JB, Chenchal Singhwala, was worried over his domestic problems. He was also not happy over the birth of twin daughters born three months ago. He already had four daughters and one son.

Police said that on Saturday at about 2am Shakoor hacked three-month-old Aliza Noor and four-year-old Kainat to death. He also wanted to kill another daughter but could not because his wife and mother had woken up. He later committed suicide by throwing himself before a moving train.

Talking to reporters, Shakoor’s mother said he often talked about giving away his daughters to some relatives because of his poverty. She said one of his twin daughters had been given to Shakoor’s sister-in-law.
