HYDERABAD, March 15: The people of Tando Allahyar staged a sit-in on Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas-Nasarpur Road on Saturday to protest acute wheat flour shortage in the city and villages. The protest was led by STP leaders Mohammad Bux Turk, Sajjad Hussain Sunaro, Ghulam Hussain Nahiyoon.

The DCO Tando Allahyar Dr Mohammad Farooq Leghari despatched the DDO Revenue Abdul Aziz Burlas, Mukhtiarkar Tando Allahyar Lal Iqbal Hyder Awan and a police contingent to persuade them to disperse which on their assurance was called off.

Reports from Tando Allahyar said officials later raided the shops where flour was hoarded and after recovery sold it at the rate of Rs600 per 40kg.
