Pakistan face England in opener

LAHORE, April 17: Pakistan will play England in the opening hockey match of the 17th Commonwealth Games on July 27. The Games are scheduled to be held at Manchester, England from July 25 to Aug 4.

In all, eight teams are taking part in the hockey competition. The teams have been divided into two pools.

Pakistan and England with Canada and Wales are in group ‘B’. The pool ‘A’ consists Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Barbados. The schedule of Pakistan matches:

July 27 vs England.

July 28: vs Wales.

July 30 vs Canada.

Aug 2: Semifinals.

Aug 4: Third and fourth position match and the final.
