CHARSADDA, April 17: In order to review arrangements being made for the NWFP governor’s visit to Charsadda on April 20, President Pervez Musharraf’s public meeting in Peshawar on April 23 and referendum on April 30, a meeting of the local administration, presided over by district Nazim Nasir Mohammad Khan was held here on Wednesday.

Tehsil Nazim Syed Masoom Shah briefed the meeting about the arrangements.

Speaking on the occasion, Nasir Mohammad Khan urged the Nazimeen, Naib Nazimeen, district and tehsil councillors to forge unity in their ranks and ensure full participation in the public meeting of Gen Pervez Musharraf in Peshawar.

SSP Inam Ghani told the meeting that fool-proof security measures had been made for the referendum day in the district. However, he asked the Nazimeen to point out sensitive polling stations in the district so that special security arrangements could be ensured for those areas.

He also assured the Nazimeen that being administrative heads of their respective union councils, all the in-charge of police stations in the district had been directed to fully cooperate with them in order to redress public grievances and restore the confidence in the police force.

The district returning officer also briefed the meeting about the referendum plan.
