Guard injured in firing dies

JACOBABAD, March 12: A security guard who was injured while foiling a robbery bid on Monday in Kandhkot succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

Reports said Jan Mohammad was on his duty at station road when some dacoits tried to break in to a shop.

The dacoits opened fire at him when the guard challenged them. He got injured and later shifted to the Civil Hospital.

The A-section police registered a case on the complaint of Jan Mohammad against unidentified men.

On Wednesday, Jan succumbed to his injuries.

His family and local people gathered at the hospital received the body and staged a protest against the police.

UC Naib Nazim Ghulam Mustafa, Akbar Golo, Taj Mohammad Mirani led the protesters.

They marched on different roads and reached at Ghanta Ghar Kandhkot where they observed a sit-in.

The SHO city reached there and assured the protesters of early arrest of the killers. On his assurance the protesters dispersed peacefully.
