Increase in fares proposed

LAHORE, March 5: The Punjab Transport Department has proposed a seven-paisa per kilometre increase in the bus fares on inter-city routes and Rs2 increase in minimum fare on urban routes.

According to a notification issued by the department for inviting suggestions from the citizens here on Wednesday, the fare of non-airconditioned buses plying on metalled and plain roads on inter-city routes is proposed to be raised from 45 to 52 paisas per kilometer. — Reporter
