LAHORE, March 2: PML-N president and former Punjab chief minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif says his party will not compromise on the issue of restoration of the deposed judges and has no differences with the Pakistan People’s Party and the Awami National Party over the issue .

He was addressing a ceremony organised by the Hameed Nizami Memorial Society here on Sunday.

PPP leader Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Tehrik-i-Insaaf leader Imran Khan also spoke on the occasion.

Shahbaz Sharif said restoration of the judiciary to pre-November 3 status was among the main promises PML-N had made with the nation during its election campaign and the party would never deviate from it.

He said the PPP and ANP had no differences with the PML-N on the issue. He said a joint committee had been formed to resolve the issue and it would meet next week.

“We are aware of the fact that if we made any mistake at this critical juncture of our history we will invite the wrath of Almighty Allah and lose our popularity among the masses”, he said and added that those who would not fulfil the promises made to the nation would never be able to ask for vote.

He said during the last eight years, the nation was hoodwinked through catchy slogans, and mega projects like the Lahore Ring Road were mishandled for huge financial gains.

The judiciary would take into account all such `wrong doings’ after its restoration, he said.

He also invited Imran Khan to join hands with the PML-N for the restoration of the judiciary and to resolve other common issues.

He said by rejecting the Q-league, people had given a clear message that they would not allow any future ruler to move against their desires. —APP
