KHAIRPUR, March 2: A group of eight armed men intercepted a tractor trolley and kidnapped three persons in the jurisdiction of Tando Masti police station on Saturday night. The fourth person on the tractor managed to escape.

They were kidnapped from Toori area near Gambat after being intercepted by the armed men near Pipri bridge. The kidnapped men were identified as Ghulam Rasool, Umeed Ali, Shah Nawaz and Ghulam Mohammad. One of them, Ghulam Mohamm-ad, however, managed to escape from the captivity of bandits.

The kidnapped persons belonged to Shikarpur district. Police have surrounded a sugarcane farm near Kolab Jeeal on the indication of a foot print expert.

Meeting: Protesting increase in diesel, petrol and electricity prices, the growers of Khairpur convened a meeting on Sunday and sought an immediate reversal of the decision which they termed harmful to the farming sector.
