PESHAWAR, March 1: Two groups of students at the Peshawar University on Saturday clashed over the arrangement of a party, which resulted in injury to at least one student, police and eye-witnesses said.

It was reported that students of the final year of the faculty of journalism had arranged a welcome party at the Agha Khan auditorium for the new comers in the MA previous, which also included a music program.

The activists of Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) reportedly opposed the music program. This led to exchange of hot words between the workers of IJT and Pakhtun Students Federation. Police officials said that at the end of the function the students again gathered at the venue and exchanged fire with pistols, which caused injuries to a student.—Bureau Report
