ISLAMABAD, Feb 28: A boy drowned in Rawal Lake, while two persons were killed in road accidents in Islamabad, police said on Wednesday.

Constable Saifullah, who was on VVIP route duty, was heading home when a vehicle hit him near Pindora, injuring him critically. However he died on reaching Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims). The deceased hailed from Gujranwala.

In another incident, Adeel Chun, a 9th class student and resident of Sector G-7, had gone for picnic to Rawal Lake along with his friends.

However he drowned when he drifted deep into Rawal Lake. The body was later fished out by the divers and handed over to the boy’s parents.

On Wednesday night an unidentified man was run over by a van in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police station. The accused driver has been arrested.

Meanwhile, a person was shot and injured and cash looted in two robbery cases, while seven vehicles were either snatched or stolen by unidentified thieves from different parts of the federal capital, police said.
