LAHORE, Feb 27: The Jamhoori Group in the Lahore district council on Wednesday formed committees to muster support of members to remove pro-PML-Q (Pakistan Muslim League-Q) town and city district nazims through no-confidence motions.

In the first phase, a no-trust motion will be tabled against City District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood, Data Gunj Bakhsh Town Nazim Tariq Sana Bajwa and Gulberg Town Nazim Ahmad Fraz Chaudhry, opposition leaders Ziauddin Ansari and Majid Zahoor said on Wednesday.

Claiming that 160 councillors of the 216-member house had assured support, they were optimistic that the no-trust moves being planned in March would be successful.

In the second phase, we’ll table no-trust moves against the remaining PML-Q Nazims of seven towns of Lahore, they said.

The district coordination committee comprises Akbar Khan, Majid Zahoor, Ziauddin Ansari, Waheed Alam Khan, Mian Abid Ali Manawan, Syed Zahid Ali Shah, Ilyas Khan, advocate Chaudhry Zulifkar, Hafiz Naseem Chishti, Shahzadi Kabeer, Tariq Gill and Zarqa Butt.

The committee for Data Gunj Bakhsh Town includes: Rao Javed Iqbal, Chaudhry Iqbal Gujjar, Mian Majid Hussain, Nazeer Khan Swati, Malik Idrees, Malik Muneer, Farzana Saleem, Dr Shamshad Manzoor and Malik Imtiaz Awan.

The Ravi Town committee includes: Arif Naseem Kashmiri, Mushtaq Mughal, Abdul Rauf, Samiullah Khan, Haji Abdul Jalil Farooqi and Iffat Butt.

In Shalamar Town, Ghazali Butt, Hafiz Moeen, Sheikh Iqbal, Zahid Zulifkar Khan, Chaudhry Shakeel and Attiya Saleem while in Aziz Bhatti Town Hamid Sarwar, Waqar Nadeem Warraich, Dr Furrukh Batool, Mian Asghar and Hafiz Shahbaz will be the members of the committee.

In Samanabad Town, the committee consists of Shoaib Khan Niazi, Asad Manzoor Butt, Shakeel Ahmad Pasha, Kashif Haneef, Bushra Malik, Chaudhry Baqir Hussain and Dr Hasanat Ahmed while the Gulberg Town committee has Amer Nisar Khan, Fayyaz Warraich, Yousaf Somi Gill, Shahid Bhinder, Gulzar Butt, Afnan Butt and Chaudhry Zulifkar.

In Iqbal Town, Zahoor Ahmad Wattoo, Mahr Mahmood Ahmad, Jahangir Bara, Col (retd) Tariq, Zakia and Fauzia Malik while in Nishtar Town, Ehsanullah Waqas, Mian Razzaq, Ramazan Bhatti, Rana Mansha, Rukhsana Rana, Zahoorullah Chishti and Aslam Garra would constitute the committees.
