PESHAWAR, Feb 26: The Capital City Police on Monday announced security plan for the chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), which will include sealing of maximum roads and a ban on pillion riding in the city.

A source said the security arrangements had been made keeping in view a suicide attack on the Mirza Qasim Baig Imambargah at the Kohati Gate during Muharram.

Under the plan, formulated at a meeting held here, the movement of Afghan refugees would be checked and security personnel would keep an eye on suspected people.

DSPs and SHOs of various police stations have been asked to beef up security measures in their respective areas.

A police spokesman said besides checking people at entry and exit points of the city, all roads in the city would remain closed for general traffic in order to ensure foolproof security to people.

All shopping markets and trade centers would remain closed on the occasion.
