SUKKUR, Feb 25: Jamaat-i-Islami secretary-general ofMunawwar Hassan has predicted that the next government will not last longer if it compromises on the issue of resignation of President Musharraf and restoration of sacked judges and unamended constitution of 1973.

Talking to journalists here on Sunday night, he said that the general elections were a referendum against President Musharraf and his allies and added that he should have resigned after people’s verdict.

He said that the APDM would support the lawyers’ proposed movement for restoration of deposed judges beginning from March 9.

Regretting a meeting between the PPP co-chairman and a US diplomat, he claimed that people had reservations over that meeting.

Answering a question, Mr Hassan said that after forming government, the PML-N and the PPP would have to come up to the expectations of the people, which included ouster of President Musharraf, restoration of judges and constitution and a poor-friendly economic policy.
