PESHAWAR, Feb 24: Unidentified persons killed a watchman at Chughalpura area on Saturday night here in the limits of Chamkani Police Station.

Police said the watchman, Shahjee son of Rehman Gul, resident of Bara Khyber Agency was shot dead by unidentified persons at a filling station at midnight.

The complainant Azim Khan son of Chinar Gul has lodged the report with the police against the unidentified accused. No one has so far been arrested in this connection.

Meanwhile, Gulbahar police claimed to have arrested a woman and recovered 16 tolas of jewellery from her possession.

According to the case registered under FIR No-77/08 the complainant Syed Qayum Hussain son of Syed Danish Reza resident of Street No. 4 Gulbahar said a woman identified as Zar Bibi widow of Ezat Gul resident of Yousufabad had come to his residence in search of job.

“The woman who was clad in a white veil stayed at my residence for some time and visited various rooms on one or other pretext and then left,” he said.

He said her gestures developed some doubts (in his mind) and as they checked the jewelry it was found missing. The woman, he said was chased and was caught in a rickshaw. The woman later returned the ornaments to the owners.

Police have booked the woman under sections 380, 420, 14 ISL and 411 PPC.
