HYDERABAD: Policeman found murdered

HYDERABAD, Feb 24: A policeman was found dead in his home in Sochi para in the jurisdiction of Fort police station. He was identified as Imdad Ali Kalhoro.

Sources in police said that Mr Kalhoro did not enjoy good reputation. His body was found in the house with a bottle of liquor lying nearby, a police official said and added that the murder seemed to have been committed two days ago.

The body, which had started showing signs of decomposition, was taken to Civil Hospital where doctors said that he had been hit with a blunt object.

His brother Mushtaq Ali Kalhoro has lodged a case at Fort police station. His gold chain and cell phone were also missing, he said.

The deceased had not been attending duties for two days.

INJURED: Two activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement were injured in a brawl in GOR Colony and were admitted to Civil Hospital’s casualty department on Sunday.

Shahid Hussain, the party’s sector in-charge, and his brother, Hamid Hussain received head injuries during a scuffle with the owner of their house in Baban Shah Colony.
