NAROWAL, Feb 22: Returning Officer (RO) Muhammad Riaz Chopra has recommended a re-balloting at nine polling stations for PP-136 Narowal-V constituency, here on Friday.

According to unofficial results, PML-Q candidate Col Shujaat Ahmad Khan (retired) had returned to the Punjab Assembly during the Feb 18 general elections.

The RO has, however, withheld the official notification of PML-Q candidate’s success on rigging complaints levelled by PML-N’s losing candidate Syeda Abida Raza Saqlain and an independent, Major Asrarul Haq (retired).

After investigation, the RO has recommended to the Election Commission of Pakistan to order a re-polling at Aenowali, Bhatan Kalan, Baleke Kala, Bleke Khurd, Budha Pind, Nangal Dauwala, Charake Bhutian and Dongiar’s male and Donglan’s female’s polling stations.
