Khuhro in spat with Ghinwa Bhutto

Published February 19, 2008

LARKANA, Feb 18: Activists of the PPP (Shaheed Bhutto) allegedly manhandled PPP leader Nisar Ahmed Khuhro at the Shaikh Zayed Colony polling station on Monday after an altercation between him and PPP-SB chief Ghinwa Bhutto over the authenticity of a computerised national identity card.

Rangers and police personnel managed to bring the situation under control.

Mr Khuhro, who was a candidate for PS-36, told journalists that he had forgiven the attackers and police said no complaint had been lodged.

APP adds: Polling at the women’s polling station remained suspended for some time because of the incident.

Ms Ghinwa Bhutto, who was contesting election for NA-204, accused the presiding officer of favouring the PPP.
