LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 18: The police on Monday arrested twelve suspected militants and recovered illicit weapons from them in Serai Naurang area here.

Eyewitnesses said that the suspects were moving around in a pick-up truck in the Serai Naurang bazaar and had visited polling stations in the town where they had warned the voters against costing votes. They said that the free movement of the militants created fear among the people present at the polling stations.

After receiving the information, the police chased the militants and intercepted them near Amir Jan Brick Kiln on Bannu-Dera Ismail Khan road.

The police recovered one rocket launcher, 12 Kalashnikovs, one pistol and live rounds from the suspects and impounded the pick-up truck.
