KHAIRPUR, April 12: Another victim of poisonous sweet, Nisar Hussain, died here on Thursday night in the Nawabshah hospital.

It may mentioned that on April 9, one Shahnawaz had given poisonous sweets to his 70 years old father, Mohammad Moorial, who ate it with other family members. After eating it he and one child, Hassan Ali, died while three persons, including a woman, fell unconscious.

ARRESTED: Thari Mirwah police have arrested three accused on charges of giving poison to a man, Bhagial Solangi, 45, here on Friday from their village Saindad Solangi near Bozdar Wada.

The accused were identified as Abdul Majeed, Allah Bux, and Mohammad Hassan. Bhagial Solangi has been admitted to the Thari Mirwah hospital in a critical condition.

DCO: Khairpur DCO Mushtaq Ali Memon has said that the government had set the target of wheat procurement as 40 thousands matric tons in the district, which would be obtained till May 31, 2002.

He was speaking at a meeting held in connection with the wheat procurement campaign.

The DCO told that a committee at taluka level had been formed to purchase wheat and provide bardana.

He further said that date for receiving application to sell wheat had been extended to April 15 while 2138 applications had been received from growers.

ROBBED: Ten unidentified armed men barged into the house of a local journalist, Ali Gul Burdi, held the inmates hostage at gunpoint and took away two buffaloes here on Thursday night in the village Burdi near Khosa Pul in the limits of Piryaloi police chowki.
