Panel to study power situation

ISLAMABAD, Feb 14: The Private Power Infrastructure Board (PPIB) has constituted a four-member committee to review the demand and supply position of electricity and submit a report within 15 days so that a timely decision could by taken to minimise the gap.

The committee comprises representatives of the PPIB, Pepco, the Planning Division and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natu-ral Resources. The decision was taken at the 77th meeting of the PPIB presided over by Minister for Water and Power Tariq Hamid here on Thursday.

The minister said the government was taking measures to meet the demand for power in future.—Reporter
