KRC gets new administrator

KARACHI, Feb 14: The Sindh Government on Thursday appointed a prominent race owner Haji Khuda Bux Rajar as administrator of the Karachi Race Club (KRC) with immediate effect.

The incumbent has replaced Fakir Syed Aitzaz Uddin who has served on the post for over four years. Known as Jaja Mian in the equine sports circle, Aitzaz, a veteran polo player, was appointed on Nov 4, 2003.

The Home department has issued a notification in connection with the appointment of Rajar under section 4-A of Sindh Race Courses Licensing Act, 1912, readwith section 2 of Sindh Race Courses Licensing Act (amendment) Ordinance, 2003, insiders told Dawn.

Besides being an active member of the KRC, Rajar, 56, is also the district Nazim, Sanghar.This is the first major change after a new Racing Committee was installed on Nov 1 last year.
