PESHAWAR, Feb 13: As part of the security plan, police on Wednesday arrested at least 152 people, suspected to be Afghan nationals, for failing to produce valid identification documents.

A high ranking official said 22 people were arrested in the Matani police area, 16 each in Nasir Bagh and Khyber Bazaar, nine in Tatara, 20 in Sarband, 13 in Peshtakhara, six in Faqirabad, 15 in Yakatoot, 10 in Sharqi and 25 in Hashtnagri.

Cases were registered against the arrested people.

Sources said the law and order situation in the provincial capital was being reviewed on daily basis, particularly in the context of the Feb 18 general election.
