GUJRANWALA, Feb 9: The district bar association completely boycotted court proceedings on Saturday and warmly welcomed a Lahore High Court Bar Association delegation when it reached the city on way to Islamabad for participation in lawyers’ convention.

The LHCBA team was led by Bushra Aitzaz, wife of Supreme Court Bar Association president Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan.

Speaking to lawyers and office-bearers of Gujranwala bar, Bushra criticised the caretakers for continuing the policies of the erstwhile PML-Q government for detaining judges and lawyers.

She said the days of President Pervez Musharraf and his cronies were numbered as the entire nation wanted to get rid of them.

The participants chanted slogans against the president and marched along GT Road.

They demanded immediate release of the detained judges and lawyers and restoration of the pre-emergency judiciary.
