PESHAWAR, Feb 9: A woman was shot dead and her brother seriously injured by their neighbours over a land dispute here on Saturday.

Haji Madad of Tehkal Payan village, where the incident occurred, filed a complaint with the area police alleging that two persons, Usman and Ghufran, were erecting a wall on his 10-marla open plot in the village. He said, when his daughter, Zainab and son Bunair, tried to stop the accused from doing so, they got infuriated and shot at them, killing Zainab on the spot and injuring his son, the police said. Meanwhile, a powerful explosion in a market on the Ring Road in Peshawar on Friday night destroyed four spare parts shops. However, no loss of life was reported, the police said.
