KARACHI, Feb 8: Seasoned all-rounder Shahid Afridi said on Friday that there was complete harmony among the Pakistan cricket team and defeats or wins should not alter that in any way.

Speaking to Dawn, Afridi said he was misquoted in a recent news item attributed to him regarding lack of unity in the team.

“I have never doubted the team spirit among our players,” he said. “I strongly believe that unity is the only factor that could carry the team forward in international cricket.

“Pakistan was the only side to beat Ricky Ponting’s Aussies in a three ODI series Down Under back in 2002, simply because we played like a unit,” recalled Afridi. “We can do it again if we play with the same spirit.”—Sports Reporter
