PESHAWAR, Feb 8: A five-year-old child kidnapped for ransom from the Daulatpur Ring Road one month ago was freed on Thursday.

Police officials said Usman, son of Khir Gul, had been kidnapped by some motorcyclists on Jan 8. The kidnappers had demanded Rs600,000 for his release.

The boy’s father had nominated Adnan, his brother Kamran and Mian Jan in the kidnapping case.

Police had arrested the suspects and had registered a case against them at the Chamkani police station. After interrogation, they had been sent to judicial lock-up. The child was set free on the Ring Road near the Dilazak Dilazak village closed to his locality.
