PESHAWAR, Feb 8: The Peshawar University Teachers Association (Puta) set up a protest camp here at the campus on Friday against the Model University Ordinance (MUO) for public-sector universities in the NWFP.

The protesting teachers, who had displayed banners with slogans against the MUO, demanded of the government to delay implementation of the ordinance till the election of a new government in the province.

Teachers from the University of Peshawar, NWFP University of Engineering and Technology, NWFP Agricultural University Peshawar, Khyber Medical University and Islamia College Peshawar were part of the protest.

Puta President Dr Arbad Khan Afridi said that they were protesting against the expected promulgation of the ordinance in University of Peshawar, NWFP Agricultural University and University of Engineering and Technology.
