SHIKARPUR, Feb 5: PML candidate for NA-203, Ghaus Bux Khan Mahar, has called for formation of a national government with consent of all political parties after the general elections.

Talking to journalists at a luncheon hosted by JUI leader Haji Nisar Ahmed Memon, at his residence here on Tuesday, Mahar said no doubt that need existed for holding free and fair elections, which was possible only with the cooperation of the political parties.

He complained that some of the PPP workers were creating disturbance in the election campaign, particularly during the public meetings of the PML-Q candidates.

To a question about law and order problem in Sindh, Mahar said that question be asked from the caretaker Prime Minister Muhammedmian Soomro and his ministers, who were now responsible for protection of life and property of the people.

However, he said that law and order was being deteriorated by professional criminals backed by some influential in the areas. He asked the people to elect honest and capable candidates in general elections who could crush the criminal and anti-social activities without discrimination.

Mr Mahar admitted that after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, PML-Q could face an adverse situation but he said the PML-Q candidates would not accept defeat and predicted a victory.

Earlier, Mr Mahar announced that election alliance was made between Mahar, JUI leaders and Maqbool Ahmed Shaikh to support each other at the district level. He was accompanied by JUI candidate for NA-202, Maulana Abdullah Pahore and other JUI leaders.
