LAHORE, April 9: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Abbas Sarfraz Khan has said that the government is planning to provide housing facilities to the poor.

Presiding over a meeting to review the implementation on housing policy, 2001, here on Tuesday, Mr Khan said the government would initiate the low cost housing projects for the poor.

He said the law of acquisition of land should be simplified so that the poor could find no difficulty in acquiring it.

Mr Khan stressed the need of computerization of the land record on modern line. He said the existing data bank could not meet the requirements of modern age and had become obsolete.
