Published April 10, 2002

HYDERABAD, April 9: A police constable was gunned down by his colleague in one of the barracks of police headquarter on Tuesday.

The SHO, cantonment police station, Javed Khanzada, said that the police constable, Allah Bux, later surrendered to police. A case has been registered against him and his official gun has also been seized.

Police said that a controversy existed between Allah Bux and M. Anwar Bhungar over the stay of a gunman of Additional IG Police Sindh, Badal Khan, in barrack no-6 where Bhungar and Allah Bux were staying jointly.

Allah Bux objected to the stay of Badal Khan on a number of occasions but his calls were not heeded to. Last night the situation took an ugly turn when Allah Bux and Bungar exchanged hot words. Bux went outside and then came with his gun. He hit Bunger in the neck and he died on the spot.
