BANNU: Rockets fired at police team

BANNU, Jan 31: Unidentified miscreants fired rockets at a police mobile team here in cantonment area on Wednesday night, officials said.

They said that three rockets were fired at the mobile team from undisclosed locations that landed in different places and caused no damage. One of the rockets did not explode and bomb disposal squad defused it. Police said that the attack was carried out at about 1am on Wednesday.

PROTEST: Pakhtunkhwa Students Organisation and Pakhtun Students Federation staged a joint protest demonstration against the power outage and blocked the road for traffic.

The angry students boycotted the classes and assembled in front of the office of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company chanting slogans against Wapda and district government. Pesco officials held negotiations with the protesting students and assured them that duration of the loadshedding would be reduced gradually.
