GUJRANWALA, Jan 26: The district returning officer on Saturday rejected all petitions against a PML-Q candidate, telling the petitioners to approach the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for redressal of their grievances.

PPP candidate for NA-99 Chaudhry Abdullah Virk, PML-N candidate for the same constituency Rana Nazir Ahmad Khan and independent candidate for PP-97 Mian Waqas Haider had moved the district returning officer against PML-Q candidate for NA-99 Rana Shamshad Ahmad Khan and former MPA Nasir Cheema for allegedly transferring police officials and appointing their favourites. They alleged the PML-Q candidate was using his favourite police officials to harass people and register fake cases against his political opponents.—Correspondent
