HYDERABAD, Jan 25: A group of workers of Pakistan Workers Federation, Interior Sindh Region demonstrated outside the press club here on Friday against the administration of Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution (SESSI).

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy General Secretary of the federation, Mehboob Ali Qureshi refuted the statement of Commissioner Social Security that Rs690 million was spent on the welfare of workers during 2007.

He said the SESSI administration failed to provide medical facilities to driver, Mohammad Shafi who fractured his leg in the line of duty.

He said although he was not fit for duty but declared fit to perform duties.

The injured driver was brought on a rickshaw to take part in the protest.

He said Mohammad Shafi was injured in August 2004 but he was still lying on bed.

He warned that if approval was not granted for the operation of the injured worker in A.O. Clinic, protest demonstrations will be held at the head office Social Security in Karachi and Directorate Hyderabad.
