TIMERGARA, April 6: Nazim Lower Dir Dr Mohammad Yaqoob Khan said the other day that the district government was not oblivious to the problems and difficulties being faced by the employees of the district and would make all possible efforts to address them at the earliest by remaining within the available resources.

Speaking at a convention of the Class-IV Employees Association of Dir Lower here at the Timergara Rest House, the Nazim said that workers always enjoyed great respect in the eyes of the God and people and exhorted upon the employees to perform their duty with honesty and dedication.

He said the district government was strictly following a transparent merit policy in every field and would not allow anybody to violate merit or usurp the rights of the suppressed section of the society.

The Nazim said if anybody had any complaints against a government functionary, he could report the matter directly to him and he would take strict action against the official concerned after a thorough enquiry.

Responding to the demands of the association presented by its President Dost Mohammad Khan, Dr Yaqoob Khan announced that from now on watchmen (chowkidars) of the government departments, specially of educational institutions would not be bound to perform duty for 24 hours.

Regarding other problems, he assured that he would take them up with officials concerned for redress at the earliest.
