Four-goal Hissam shines in Polo Cup

LAHORE, Jan 16: Four-goal Hissam Ali Hyder helped Polo de Sufi beat Subway 7- 5 1/2 in the Lahore 10-Goals Polo Cup here on Wednesday.

The 1 1/2 goal handicap helped Subway lead the first chukker by 3 1/2-3. Hissam struck thrice while Ahmad Zubair and Taimur Mawaz Khan shared the honours for the losing side.

A goal each from Sufi Mohammad Aamir and Saqib Mawaz Khan put the winners ahead by 5- 4 1/2 in the second chukker. Taimur slammed in his second for Subway.

A solitary goal of the third chukker by Agha Murtaza Ali Khan again put the losing side at the fore with 5 1/2-4.

But in the fourth chukker Polo de Sufi earned two goals through Hissam and Sufi Mohammad Haris to seal the fate of the match.

Meanwhile in a one-sided match, Guard Rice outclassed Rangers 7- 2 1/2.

Taimur Ali Malik (4), Junaid Ahmed, Raja Samiullah and Usman Haye with one goal each were the contributors for the winners. The solitary goal for the losing side, who had a 1 1/2 goal handicap, came through Umar Sadik.
