Woman, four children injured in fire

GUJRAT, Jan 16: A woman and her four children sustained burn injuries as their house caught fire allegedly because of a short-circuit in Purani Jhelum, Sara-i-Alamgir, on Tuesday night.

Reports said the fire broke out in the house of Basharat, causing burn injuries to his wife, Kaneez Bibi, daughters Kalsoom, 14, Sumera, 10, and sons Babar, 7, and Shaukat, 5.

The injured were shifted to Kharian CMH’s burn unit where the condition of Sumera and Shaukat was stated to be critical.

The TMA fire brigade staff put out the fire after about half an hour.
